The Natural benefits of composting has long being understood by farmers and gardeners for centuries. Natural ecosystems have a proven method of breaking down organic materials into a useful end-product.This section provides some useful understand of what techniques Enrich have adopted to produce the peat free compost for a variety of horticultural/landscaping activities.

In nature, fallen branches, trees and leaves lie on the soil surface. In time this debris begins to breakdown and decompose, releasing nutrients to the soil. Due to today’s gardening practices, this natural occurrence does not often happen. Branches, leaves and grass clippings are collected and removed. This practice robs plants and soils from essential nutrients.

Garden cuttings, grass clippings and tree branches collected from the various collection centers, are taken to our purpose built composting facility. This green material is shredded and composted for a minimum of 90 days, after which it is screened to produce a quality product to be used in the horticulture/landscape and agriculture sectors.

Carrying out a successful composting systems requires an understanding of certain biological, chemical, and physical processes such as the movement of air, uptake of carbon and nitrogen, and heat production.
