A structural soil, also referred to as Stockholm Soil, is a stone-based growing medium designed to plant trees under a compacted pedestrian or traffic paving.
Structural Tree Soil can meet engineering standards for supporting pedestrian and vehicular traffic whilst at the same time providing enough soil for a tree to be healthy and reach maturity.
The design encourages roots to grow deep underground without lifting the pavement and is recommended for water attenuation in SuDS systems.
